Black Powder Shooters will now be able to join the “Senior Rifle” shoots!

Lehigh Valley Trap League Shoot-off March 4 will be at Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club.

Please take note there was an error in the “Master Schedule” for July 28. It has been corrected. The “Run and Gun Match” is on Sunday July 29.

The 2012 “Senior Rifle Match” schedule is posted under “EVENTS”.

Click on “Club information/pictures” then in bottom right of your screen click “FS”. You will be able to see the all the pictures, as well as some select photos from the ICORE North East Regional Championship.

Information about Youth Rifle Team can now be accessed by clicking the TAB on top right of home page.

Archers: Please use ONLY the foam bale to sight in “Broadheads”.

Crossbow users: Please do not use crossbows in the “Practice Archery Range” the bales are not designed to hold the bolts.

Pennsylvania Governor Signs Castle Doctrine into Law

Governor Tom Corbett has signed Pennsylvania Castle Doctrine legislation into law. This common-sense measure permits law-abiding citizens to use force, including deadly force, against an attacker in their home and any place where they have a legal right to be. It also protects individuals from civil lawsuits by an attacker or attacker’s family when force is used.

“Gov. Corbett and Pennsylvania lawmakers know that law-abiding citizens must have the right to protect themselves when criminals attack without fear of being second-guessed by an overzealous prosecutor,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director, National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action. “Crime victims don’t have the luxury of time when confronted by a criminal and must be able to count on the law being on their side. This new law accomplishes that by removing any mandate of forcible retreat.”

The NRA has led the nationwide movement to pass Castle Doctrine legislation, beginning with Florida in 2005. Pennsylvania is the 27th state to adopt this important measure with overwhelming bipartisan support. House Bill 40, sponsored by Rep. Scott Perry (R-92), passed by a 164 to 37 margin. Richard Alloway, II (R-33), sponsored the companion bill to HB 40, Senate Bill 273, which passed 43-4.

International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts. ICORE serves the international community to promote action competition with revolvers.
ICORE was founded in 1991 by Mike and Sharon Higashi, long time active shooters in all the handgun sports. Envisioned as an alternative to the “arms race” that was occurring in the other action sports at the time, a revolver-only competition would allow even the most basic equipment to be used and still provide enjoyment and satisfaction.

Our sport combines elements of the Bianchi Cup, IPSC, and the Steel Challenge into a demanding competition exclusively for revolvers. Our standard paper target is the NRA D-1 target with 4 scoring areas. Scoring is based on time, including time added or subtracted per the scoring rules. Falling and stationary steel plates are also used in ICORE events.
